There was some more left in her but Rippie didn't want to waste his time tuning when we'll have to tune it all over again in the car. Fotoboy you deserve a cigar for being so close! Flame away!!

      Daaaayum!

      Nice numbers man.

I gotta see this car when you get it going.

just an observation, and I realize you are not done tuning and there is more power to be had there, but how much more? if you take 530 rear wheel horse and multiply it by 25% and then add your 530 to that you come up with 662.5 horse at the crank, so if you take 535 and multiply your 25% you come up with 668.75, I realize 25% may not be what you are losing through the drive train but it has to be right in the ballpark. just wondering if the build would be worth it if you are making almost the same power as last year? I realize now you can spray this motor so is that a big reason for the rebuild? or are you expecting alot more power? not being a smart ass or trying to piss you off, I am just asking questions.

IS that the reason why you are going with the 441 is more power? I was under the observation of something was going on with the 427 and you needed a new build.

What did you do with the 427?

Well to be honest with you I was looking for the 700 mark but I'm not going to get into the numbers game. Like Rippie said, he could sit there for the whole day tuning and working on it and end up getting 700............but for what? Unless I would be running around with it on the crank dyno tour what would be the point?! Say what you want Tork but the proof will be who wins the race. I have alot to do yet to get this thing in and running but I'm sure it will be strong.I never really redid this thing for more power. I allways said that the LS7 sleeves stock were suspect and I didn't want to lunch a high dollar motor over it and that is the reason for the build. I figured since I was replacing the sleeves I might as well stroke it once it was apart to get it's full potential. Now down the road I could spray it if I wanted to without worrying. Like I said....................let the flames begin and I guess I was right!?

Tork...........let me help you out with the drivetrain mathmatics. At 535 to the wheels at a 15% drivetrain loss I would be 615 horse at the crank. At 580 at the wheels I would be at 667 at the crank. I don't know where your numbers are coming from at a 25% loss but 15-17% is usually the norm. So according to this I gained 50 horse at the crank. It don't matter much. It will be dynoed in the car and we will all soon know. Traver

you guess you were right? Right about what??? like I said, I wasnt trying to start anything, I was just asking some questions, and I thought you said you didnt want to race.

Dude, thats awsome, you should post a dyno graph! I bet the tq is flat out of that beast.

And because I got so close I want a ride!

I can't post a dyno sheet because I don't have one! All I have is a sheet of numbers. It was dynoed at TPIS's "Horsepower Farm" and Myron Cottrell said his program doesn't produce a dyno graph, trust me I asked!! I have a sheet with numbers I can scan though. The torque was very impressive. At 3500 rpm it's at 515 from there to 5800 which is where it hits it's peak(574). From 5800 at 574 it goes down to 560 and carries 560 till 6200 and then slowly falls off to 500 at 6700 rpm.Peak horse is 668 at 6200 and carries 630 all the way to 7000 grand! What I can't figure out is why the peak horse and tork is at 6200 instead of the 5250 like usuall?

hp and tq always cross at 5252 rpm. Hp is a calculation from tq and rpm. hp is the work of how the tq is applied. peak tq is usually below 5252 and hp will never be greater than tq if it does not pass 5252 either.

Is there any kind of program where I can punch my numbers in and convert it to a graph of some sort? Traver

That's what's goofy............my peak torque is at 5800 for some dumb reason and my peak horse is at 6200!? At 5200 rpm it's 570 and 5800 rpm it's 574. I know it's only 4 horse difference but I always know the same as you, peak tork and horse cross at 5250. What gives??
