Yeah, it was pretty choice! Could've sat and talked with that guy for hours on end but had to work the following morning. Might have to cruise down there again sometime to show him how the car is now. He was happy that it was going to an enthusiast since he had gotten a bunch of calls from guys wanting to buy it for dirt-track racing. Who cuts up a car in this condition for roundy-round?

Nice to learn from others mistakes!

Re the zerks, the instructions said to face them up. I thought it would have been the other way too but....
That is the stock sway bar. I bought larger front and rear bars for it though. Just had the stocker sandblasted and painted it up right away for when I sell it.
Re gears, I think I'll just say screw it and run 4.88's. 3.73's

Those are some good pics of your car build up I sure do like them old malibu's wish I had not junked my wagon or sold my 79 4dr that was from california. I was going to put 8.5 in my wagon too untill back in the later 80's asthey were so expensive. I came across a 12 bolt and with a little twisting and bending it bolted right in the pinion angle was wrong but back then who cared. Now I see they make adjustable control arms now.
Keep up the good work you have a nice car there.

It sucks that these cars get used up in the stock car circuit!! I was just talking to my friend today and he told me about another one from a few years ago. The guy inherited one with insanely low miles from his Grandma. Not a scratch on the thing. It just sat in a garage. He went and made it into a stock-car. I guess it makes mine a little more valuable in the long run but
