well im picking up an olds 350 this weekend for 100 bucks, runs real good, no smoke, small leak from the valve covers, as usual.. should be a 1 maybe 2 day swap if i take my time. picking it up this sunday. dont think im going to try and get any more power out of it with the other heads i have, if anyone knows about olds motors, this one has the later #8 heads with like a mid-high 70cc combustion chamber, may put my 7A heads on there with 68ish cc chambers and a mild cam, but who knows. perhaps even throw my headers on there, but that would require me to find a 3in to 2 inch collector of sorts, or new muffs so i can just run dumps. anyhow enough rambling, update shalst happen this weekend

picked up the 350 on sunday, now it will sit until i can get this grand am out of my garage, hopefully it will be running for some halloween parties, granted it doesn't snow a foot by then.. I really like the way these guys pull the motor, all accessories still on there along with wiring and everything.
picture is kind of crappy, but whatever..

well i was cleaning it up a bit last night and was kind of puzzled to find that the crank was drilled for a pilot bushing. which is really odd on an olds if it wasn't a standard trans car. this came out of a 76 delta with a th400 behind it. so thats kind of neat. it opens my options a bit if i can find someone with cheap stock p/p for a t56 and get the bellhousing. i may end up with the 6 speed in there this winter. perhaps if i am motivated today after work the 307 will be out of where it sits

had hoped to get this thing in yesterday, however ran across a snag.. original 1976 exhaust bolts.. broke friggen 5 of them after soaking them with pb for 2 days.. so i spent most of the night cutting bolt heads off and converting what were bolts, into studs. probably wont get it in there until friday now..
