Working on a 03 grand prix

Shifter stuck in park unless you manually force the solenoid at the shifter, also the key is stuck in unless you manually force the solenoid on the colum. Replaced the brake switch that forces the shift solenoid to work and still nothing. I have tested the harness to the shifter and its working as it should?

What am i missing? I haven't tested the solenoid on the shifter itself?
Would this still tell the key solenoid that the car in not in park. IE you cant remove the key?

We used to put a lot of new shifters in those car back in the day as I remember.

Were can i find one? I can find the solenoids, but not a complete shifter asy.

If it's a part that is commonly fails, make sure to check it out before buying. Sometimes with parts like that you can retro fit an earlier or later version to get around the hassle. I see people do it a lot on other GM products.
