When Ford heard that GM's Duramax touted the most HP & Torque, they "reprogrammed" their engine management system to "one up" GM so they could claim the most HP & TQ.
Too bad that in this article where the three big dogs were tested head to head, the GM out performed the Ford in performance. Another case where having the most HP doesn't get you the best performance.
I've read where Dodge will up their HP & TQ by mid year to claim the highest ratings.
As long as Toyota isn't in the game, I'm happy.
But the throttle is the Sierra's biggest trick. Power delivery is deceptively smooth on the way to a 7.5-second sprint to 60 mph (7.2 seconds with 1 foot of rollout) and the Allison 1000 six-speed automatic makes quick shifts until the quarter-mile ends in 15.6 seconds, 87.7 mph and total domination of the F-350 and Ram 3500.
