  • Hot rod building inside the house

Living in Minnesota during the winter can be somewhat of a problem if your garage isn't heated, available and ready to go. I had to repaint and replace the carpeting of a house I rented because of all the heads I ported and valve jobs that were done on the living room table. I remember neighbors craping themselves when I made the transfer of a complete and finished big block chevy from an engine stand threw the patio door to an engine puller on the deck.

Where I live now my house isn't so trashed but I do at this time have two sets of heads in the dining room, and a set of pistons, rods,a press and cutting torch in the living room and with several broken ceramic tiles from past mishaps. It really isn't dirty but yes I'm doing valve jobs again and the air tool noises are a bit out of place but its kinda nice when you can say, "hey lori can you grab these keepers with this magnet wile I put the valve spring compressor on the retainers" until her finger gets pinched by a keeper or a retainer flys across the room.

yeah me and a buddy rebuilt a tranny in the living room once... a quart of tranny fluid goes a long way on white carpet.

Hey nothing wrong with that. The only time that'd be a problem is if a keeper lands in a salad or in a sandwich and you bite down real hard...not good for the toofies. lol

I used to have slicks in the living room of my apartment. Kinda covered 'em and tried to use as a coffee table.

Coffee is often used to be put down under slicks to get them smoking when water is in short supply
