Damn. I always try to be very careful when I am working on the lathe. I didn't think it would completely destroy you like that....

Thats about the worst thing I've ever seen. Probably wearing a long sleeve shirt and got pulled in, that poor guy.

"Too gross" is a matter of opinion really. It doesn't really bother me one bit to look at those pics. If I saw it in person, different story definitely!

I think a good "shock" is good for a person every now and then when it comes to being safe around heavy machinery. In fact, Pool Boy and I both told our maintenance man at work about the pictures since there is a lathe there and he said that most of our maintenance crew is probably too lax when it comes to using it. He told me I should email the pictures to the maintenance foreman and they're probably going to be posted above the lathe as a reminder.

I agree its good to see some stuff like this once in awhile, kind of a reminder that stuff like this does happen if not being careful. Just not a good idea to look at this stuff right before you go to bed!

I work with this stuff everyday and you can never be too careful, the minute you snooze you lose ( a finger or some other part of your body). IMO they are a little gruesome but they tell a hell of a story.

It is tough to see. You hear about it over the years, but seeing it sticks in your head when you're working.

A picture is worth a thousand words.
