Was going to bed about 1am and noticed it was real cold downstairs so I took a look see and noted that when the furnace fired up it ran for like 15 sec and shut down with the little yellow light blinking on the circuit board, so I figured there was a problem. I know I should have replaced the flame and ignitor sensors instead of letting the guy clean them in Sept. but hell now it bit me in the ass. I took out the flame sensor, cleaned it then when I had the air intake tube off I noted it had leaves in it and thought that was odd, how in the hell did leaves get in there. I removed the leaves and the furnace fired right up but I think the flame sensor is junk as the furnace likes to start out at low speed then switches to high and cycling 2 more times now. I called the place we got the furnace from but Sunday work starts at $345 YIKES for the 1st 30 minutes and more for each 15 minutes after that, so I have them coming on Monday as even though it's a federal holiday they are regular hours. Furnace is a Carrier and we've really only had 2 problems in 20 years so I can't bitch about that. I don't want to but a new one as we plan to move in the not too distant future and I'd rather put a new one at a new place so I can use it another 20 year someplace else. Seems this past week is "everything go to hell week" lol.
