  • Brad's Nova goes 6.89@102 in the 1/8

Went out with John Jeffy to the Grove last weekend to run Brad's Nova. John has not run a car down the track since 1980, WOW! it was a blast and took John a little time to get used to the car. Early the car was in the bottom 7.0 range but after we put Brad's air pan on it the car was in the 6's. John let me take the car for a pass or two and I ended up with a 6.91 and 6.89 @102.5mph. It's has a lot more in the car but John does not like to mess with stuff. I know if it was mine that car would be in the 6.50 range real soon. Was a fun day.

Just found out watching the my last run that the fuel pressure was down to like 2psi on the run. I knew something was wrong as the car would not pull above 6K. it's got a 6.60@105mph in it.

The car is home in my garage now. I have been trying to tune this 520 BBC and while it's better, I have found out the cam in this engine is POS and does not respond to to changes very well. It's another failed cam ides the Dave Storlien used in Brad's car. The cam might be good for racing but it's sheet on the street. No matter this BBC will be coming out next year as I am planning on putting in a different one along with a 700R4 I snagged recently to run in something like this car. Will be fun to cruise Brad's old car down the highway in O/D going 70mph@ 1800 RPM.
