  • Took the Camaro out on the street for the 1st time in over 30 years

After a great winter putting in the new 12 bolt I got to take the Camaro out for a street cruise with my new 468 BBC. I put in a new turbo 400 with a low stall converter and this combo lays down some big rubber marks, but that didn't surprise me. Still haven't decided if I want to put on one of my 4 tunnel ram setups on the car as it runs pretty sweet right now. I did add my Big Shot setup and set it on kill for an extra 400hp.

Sweet! Must be nice to get her on the street after 3 decades! 468? What is that - a bored 454? Plus you have a 400-shot of nitrous??

Yes, a .060 454 with my peanut port heads that went 11 teens on an 8:1 compression engine, this one is 10.2:1 so I am sure with my 4.56's and 8" converter high 10's will be no problem at all. Might go to BIR street drags later this year and test out the 3.08's then swap over to the other stuff to see what a difference it makes.

Shit - my dad's 4-dr hardtop '70 Custom LeSabre with the special-order Stage I 455 ran 0-60 MPH @ ~6 sec in 1st & ran 14.7 sec in the 1/4 @ 100 MPH in 2nd. If you put that fucker on the rugs from a dead-stop & held it there, the turbo 400 didn't shift into 2nd until ~70 MPH & it didn't hit 3rd until ~110 MPH. Then it really set you back into the seat! The beauty of having 510 lbs of torque @ 2800 RPM & 410 HP @ 5600 RPM with 2.73 gears.
