Went up to CRB. Lots of iron out tonight. Only 3 GNs, though. Stopped @ Beach's on the way up there & treated her to a tank of 110. Holy shit - their 110 is $12/gal & their unleaded 98 is only 20 cents or so less! Looks like I'll definitely be reinstalling the SMC alcohol injection system!

I have not yet this year Joel as I am not racing until this fall. Let us know what the price is if you got there. Last year it was $8.25 for 100 unleaded.

110 is $12/gal @ Beach's! 100 unleaded is only 20 cents or so less. One of the GN guys mentioned that the Holiday @ Nicollet & 494 has 110 for $10.50/gal.

Definitely have to reinstall the SMC alky injection on my GN! Can't afford nearly 200 bucks per tankful! With the alky injection, I can run the same boost & make the same power on 93 octane pump-gas as I can on 110 w/o alky injection.

Bday party tonight @ Wagner's! The owner turned 60 today! Starts @ 5 PM. I was planning to go - but not sure if the wx is going to be decent.

Well....the NWS has issued a tornado watch for the metro until 10 PM. Checking radar & storm track info, I'm gonna pass on Wagner's tonight. Just not willing to risk getting caught in a hailstorm.

Guess I should've gone up to Wagner's last night. Heard that the wx was perfect.

Anyone ever go to the Tues night car meet at 201 E 104th St in Bloomington that runs from 6-9PM? Read that they have music, food, etc. Supposed to have the best fresh-picked sweetcorn around! Think I'm gonna check it out tonight.

Yikes, $12 a gal. for race gas. F-ing price gougers. It's either going to be pump gas for me or I am going to convert the car to E-85 to run my 12:1 406. Might even look into Menthol now. E-85 is under $3 a gal right now. I guess I can always race the 8:1 peanut port engine again, it runs on 87 oct. and spit out 11 sec times too boot. Thanks for the pics Joel.

Yeah, a number of the GN club guys have converted to E85. 25 lb of boost is no problem - after doing all of the fuel-system upgrades that are required. Heard that the mileage goes from ~25 MPG on the highway on straight gasoline down to 10-12 MPG on E85. I still drive mine cross-country a fair amount during the summer, so I'm hesitant to go that route. switching to E85 would cut my range from ~450 mi/tank down to only ~170 mi/tank. When I'm driving up to Lake of the Woods, that could be an issue. Definitely gonna reinstall my SMC alky injection, though! I've never had an issue running 22 lb of boost on 93 octane pump-gas with the alky running.

BTW - at the Bloomington show Tues night, I heard that the El Loro Fri-Sat show has been moved to a new location - but I can't remember where it's supposed to be. Anyone else know what the scoop is?

Also - anyone know if the 6-9PM 'Just Cruise' Fri night Lyndale cruise from 66th down to 98th is happening this year?

Well...no cruising for me this weekend. Was gonna check out Lyndale tonight, but had no fuel pressure. Ran just fine on the way home Tues night. Checked the usual stuff, with no luck. Looks like I'll have to get it towed to the shop on Monday.

                              Well....you should show up!

The Coon Rapids Blvd Sat night cruise is about as close to the old Porky's cruise as is possible inside the metro at this point. Lots of iron of all types & ages. No central parking like we had @ Porky's, but most people hang out in a couple of the larger parking-lots on the cruise route. Quite a few people hanging out in their lawn chairs along the cruise route, watching the action & snapping pics. Plenty of spots to grab a bite, too. And it's an official cruise, so the cops can't nail you for "cruising" if you drive by the same place too often. It's officially a 6-9 PM deal, but cars start showing up at ~5 PM.

Here's a video that somebody shot last night.
