  • Totaled out the Kia

Today my son had an accident with the 03 Kia Sorrento I had, he spun out on some black ice and hit some lady pretty hard. Her car does not look too bad but her air bags went off so it will be a spendy repair. I guess I will part the thing out as the short block only has 40K on it and the tires are like new. It sucks, I just put a new fuel pump assy. in it and the truck only has 138K.
    Parts Sale LOL.

Glad he's ok. That's most important.

Ya he is good considering the hit that truck took. I know the other party is ok also. I just listed the truck for $1000 as the thing has an engine with just 40K on it. Glad i got another Suburban, hope i can get it going this spring without spending a ton on the truck. It needs a new intake gasket for lean codes (common on LS engines) and the trans codes fixed. I am willing to bet my sone will be a little more cautious when there is black ice on the roads from now on. You get a real quick learning curve when that happens.

Thanks, he is ok and I am surprised after the big hit the truck took. I was able to get the door sort of pulled out but the lower part of the body was pushed in about 6", then I pulled the bottom hinge off and modified some areas and got the door to seal at the top, secured it down. Where it was open at the bottom I filled it with foam and then back filled it any place water could get in. Took it out for a drive and it runs and drives fine except id has some wind noise. I did find a coolant leak but it was not related to the accident. He going to drive it today, I told him to use the 4 wheel drive any time it's icy or snowy. Better safe then sorry.

Ya, he made it to work yesterday and said " I learned to turn a little slower.
The 4 wheel drive is now being used more, but hell that's what it's for.
