The torque output was the difference with the 2 engines. Now granted the coyote engine is only 303 cubes but the face remains ford's 32 valve N/A engines just can't get the job done. The LS3 engine is quite a monster for a pushrod engine, just think if they were to toss a set of AFR CNC 235 cathedral port heads on that engine, would have been 600hp for sure.
