I heard a guy from the OKC racers was hit with manslaughter because he was street racing against a Mustang who lost control (of course) and killed two people. Has anyone ever considered this when tangling with another car on the street? You don't have to kill someone--just be involved in a race where someone is killed and you're toast. All the more reason to take it to the track

Street Racing is quite a gamble

From what I have read on this none of the OKC racers were involved with the deaths, the racer was a guest on the show. This happened in Cali LA somewhere and 2 were killed, the guy turned himself in to the cops. Still not the safest thing to do. I had street raced since I was in my teens and only have been pulled over a couple of times. Since the late 90's I have never seen such a bunch of stupid street racers in my life. When Glenn and I were hanging at the Pork's we would go watch and the idiot stuff people would to ma me say "no way" when we were at most places. JR would always have a car show at the race place until the cops would show up the they rolled to a new spot. When we raced in the 70's and 80's we got there raced and left. When the cops did show up we were always sitting and BS'ing around. Cars now are way faster that when I grew up so the stakes are much greater today.
Anyone remember Crazy?, he was another guy who had a tough time controlling his car on the street, just like all the import crowd. So too many spectators cause more problems and weather you participate or race there is always a change you could be involved in a crash, I only remember one race that ended in a death, the one on East River Road back in the 90's, after that, if you went down there with a Hot Rod you caught hell from the cops.
