Yeah, the '72 454 was rated @ 270 net. The '71 454 was rated @ 365. It had a 285 net. '72 was the first year they started the net ratings. I like old and new, but my '00 can be driven cross country with cold a/c, get over 20 mpg without monkeying around with all kinds of gremlins and pull into a track along the way and run 11s. And one other thing-technology principles that applied back then don't apply today. I agree with smooth 358, I'd rather have that '72.
Go to a car show, the new Camaro will get looks for like the first 6 months, the early 70's 454 Chevelle's are a timeless classic that people will look at forever.
