  • 383 SBC vs. 383 MOPAR

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-uV61qilqU

So...even though he knew the video would be all over the internet, this guy "threw the motor together until 2AM" and "didn't know how well it would do".

Do these people think we're idiots?

As I chimed in and mentioned--maybe all the rodders who run the SBC should take those motors out and put in this guy's 383 MOPAR.

Throw away the crummy Air Gap intake and put a Holley Dual plane Contender or Street Dominator on that 383 Cheeby, dump the 850 and go with the 750 hp carb and it will take out the Mopar 383. Better yet, I wonder what the Cheeby would do with Frakencarb 600, after all it was worth a ton on a recent dyno test against another 670 VS and a Eddy 600, Frankycarb killed them both. He He.

383 Mopar held it's own pretty good considering the age of that engine and cylinder head design.

No doubt, but does anyone think the guy who "threw the Mopar together until 2AM" played by the rules? No one would just "throw an engine together" at the last minute knowing it would be widely viewed on the internet against a SBC.

Just like stockers and super stockers--they cheat as much as they can get away with without drawing attention.

Life wouldn't be any fun if we didn't cheat.
