    I know a lot of the guys here prefer the old school American stuff, but I always liked the Carrera GT.

    When Peter's gorgeous Guards Red Carrera GT first arrived.
    Was first taken for a preliminary road test to decipher if there was any drivability issues to be addressed once the car was strapped onto the lift. Scanned all computers to check for faults, over rev counter and TPM battery life



    The wheels,wheel well liners and under body panels were all removed for initial inspections.



    Disassembly for the Major Maintenance begins with removing the rear lid


    Roll bar covers, rear fenders, rear bumper and rear wing all removed


    A look from underneath with the under panelling and rear lower tub removed


    The engine completely removed from the car and ready to for farther inspection and valve adjustments.



    Transmission un flanged and valve covers off for valve lash measurements



    Close up of the infamous clutch


    Overhead look of bank one cylinder head with valve covers removed



    Front body removed to replace front shocks

    Leaking rear main seal. Real concern is tolerance with Porsche Ceramic Composite Clutch


    New seal installed and cleaned


    Old camshaft which Porsche paid to replace


    Bank 1 camshaftless



    Without buckets and shims, you can see the top of the valve and retainer.


    Bucket on the left and shim on the right


    New shim, per adjustment, needed for this particular valve lash measurement was 2.650mm


    All torqued.


    Look close to see the split gear


    Cam timing installed back onto the engine


    After W735 treatment


    PCCB cleaned, inspected, reinstalled and torqued. Additionally, starter ring was torqued
