Sounds like a few went to RF today to play. Pretty good air and high barometer should have produced some good ETs.

Was a good day out there on Sat. I went 11.50's@115 with stinky little 600 Holley VS carb on the car, I was happy to see the car run that but not all that surprised as in the late 80's I had a 600 go 11'60's on my 454 back then. The difference from then and now is the 454 being such a big old engine would not pull over 5K as it ran out of breath with a 600 carb. The same thing was true on the street when I had a 600 Eddy on the 454 died out at around 5500 rpm. Kris R was there but his Mustang now is far from "stock" but runs pretty good, 11.40's on his first run. We filmed a C7 Z06 running 11.01@130 with drag radials only. No hellcats though.:smoke:

Well that's interesting. That's impressive to get there with such a small carb. Must be another one of those "Carbs by Mr. Hp". Good for Kris R. He's one of the good guys. We all know about how "stock" his cars have been. Most Fords like his aren't very consistent though. Run one good time and the rest are up to a half second different. Reminds me of Joe.

        Those Z06s are no joke.

I think the hellcat drivers won't bring their cars out because they don't want to run times totally different than advertised. The same advertisement that led them to buy those over rated heavy pigs.

Ya the Z06 was pretty impressive run, Little HP got the run on video, I will just have to figure out hosting it up. I know Kris R's car is quick for what he has but I did close to the same for a ton of bucks less. If I were to spray the bitch it would wipe out a lot of cars out there. Last time was 10.04 and over 130 mph sprayed so I am sure with this setup it would go in the 9's. The 358 is a great engine and surprises me every time I try something. I will just wait and toss in the 468 next year and see what happens, with all the problems I have had with Big Blocks in the past I learned that others work was the problem the car should run pretty good this time. I will sneak up on it this time with a smallish cam, carb and intake setup. One good thing was I did the valve job and porting myself on the 781 heads, the work that the last clown did was horrible but the car still managed a 11.19@119 so with the right work the car should be better. I am going to try a dual plane intake for the muscle car race to see if it picks up some tq. and get an even better ET. I don't really care as much about mph.

A good friend of mine was there running his blue 78 monte. He won some money I guess. I think my last outing of the year will be cedar falls October 10th for the midway shootout
