Nitrous is safe!

Damn!
Nitrous was used in air racing back in the 30s, and also for war-emergency-power in various piston-engined WWII fighters. It's not dangerous when installed & used properly. Apparently, the guys in that clip overlooked one or both of those key points.
That said - if something goes awry with any engine that has an extremely high specific output, there's a good chance that something will fail in spectacular fashion.
Look at all the blowers we watched get launched high into the air during NHRA races back in the days before they started strapping 'em down. Ever watched an F1 engine disassemble itself when something important breaks @ 15,000 RPM?

Yeah - for many decades, 15k was exclusively small 2-stroke model airplane & RC car glow-engine territory. Around a decade ago, F1 engines were turning 20k! In 2014, F1 rules lowered the max allowed RPM to 15k.
