That is odd. I've seen plenty of bad stuff happen with the gasohol crap, but I've never had an issue with non-oxy.
Speaking of non-oxy - I found that my GTP gets 4-5 more MPG on the highway with non-oxy than it does with gasohol premium. That's a whopping 15-17% increase in MPG with non-oxy. Up here in East Bethel, non-oxy is only around 5% more expensive than gasohol premium - so I run non-oxy in the GTP.

Given that it repeatably gets better mileage whenever I fill-up from nearly empty with non-oxy, I doubt that it's running richer. If that were the case, I'd be getting worse mileage on non-oxy - right? I've noticed nearly the same MPG increase every time over a number of years, so it's not due to weather, driving style, or where I drive. I assumed that the increase in MPG must be due to the higher BTU content of pure gasoline, and maybe better burn characteristics.
