I think that it's funny to read about all the guy putting in LSX based engines in their mustangs. They are just engines, the short blocks execpt for the 6 bolt mains are really not that good for a ton of boost. Hyper pistons, PM rods and a cast crank were not desinged to be boosted. Some of these guys take an awfull chance hoping that the LS engine they put in won't blow up, but I guess for a $300 take out engine that can go 9's and 10's is pretty good. IMO it's the heads that make the LSX based engines shine to make so much power boosted.

From what I've learned over the years with the GN, most failures under boost are caused by operator error - things such as inadequate fuel-delivery for the amount of boost, or attempting to exceed the engine's knock-limited power output on a given fuel.
