  • More Hellcat info

These Dodge corporate guys have common sense.

I find it hard to believe though that this heavy beast is a 10 second car as they claim. 707 at the FW should be about 580 rwhp. The car weighs 4450 and with a 200 lb driver, that'd put it at maybe 11.60s with perfect conditions perfect air and driver. That's along way from 10.80s. Still a cool car though.

Hmmm...10.80s with the windows down. It's doctored video. At 2.59 the two were within maybe 2 car lengths and at 3.03 about same but then they flick the camera and the hellcat has about a half track lead on him.

I'll post on here and weep when I see one run a 10.8 @ 126 in real life.

Again...4600 lb raceweight and 580 at the wheels does not equal 10.80s. sorry.

Still impressive for a new car. There's a lot of technology built into it. I like the way you can control performance features through the on board radio/nav screen.

Watch these vids. There's no way those are 10 sec runs or even low 11 sec runs with street tires.

Here's an interesting article from someone who actual raced the Hellcat at a track with timers...

            http://www.torquenews.com/106/2015-d...weighs-4439lbs

That is the curb weight for the SRT Hellcat model with the 8-speed automatic transmission that I ran an 11.8 with on Portland International Speedway’s quarter mile drag strip.

Not weeping much at that ET. lol

I know it's hard for you Chevy boys to understand this kind of power, LOL!

It's all in good fun, I hope................

I don't know what tires were on the back of this car in the video, but that good for 11.14 around here.

I'll admit that in order to get those times out if this heavy beast, it has to be putting out more power. But don't you think that if it did have more, they'd advertise it? I think a pulley change and tune may account for quicker times. I just dont think a factory show floor version is gonna do it. But I agree--it is all in good fun.

Wow! 4600lbs. Might as well race a Truck and save a few bucks. Why the hell do they have to make the cars weigh a so much.

Just think if you put that crate motor in a 3200 lb car Bob.

Could not afford the motor so I will just buy the crate. :rotfl:
