Only thing I care about is the weight. Moving to the Alpha platform, they need to figure out a way to cut some weight out of this thing.

From what I've read, they're up sizing the new Camaro a bit - possibly to make room for a smaller sports-car that could compete with the Subaru BRZ, Scion FR-S, and Miata. It will still migrate to the Alpha platform as expected, but it will be based on the long-wheelbase version used by the Cadillac CTS, not the short-wheelbase version used by the ATS. Reportedly, the new Camaro will be a couple inches longer than the current model, but still shorter than the CTS. The base CTS weighs just over 3600 pounds. So the Camaro should end up close to that, I'd think. If so, that would be a 400-pound weight-reduction over the current porked-out two-ton model. That ought to be noticeable!
