If we're talking a ZL1--not a ZR1 (as this thread is all about)--with drag radials, tune and a good driver, it would probably outrun your cobra. When it comes to a ZR1, you should be scared. With drag radials and a good driver, it would destroy your cobra.

Cool video. I'd love to go up in that F/A-18! I've pulled 8.5 positive Gs & 3.5 negative Gs while doing aerobatics in a Pitts Special, but I've never been in anything that could accelerate at over 1G for more than a second or two at most. That would be a fun ride!

Here's an on-board clip from the ZR1 during a practice run for the race with the jet. It was still pulling 0.25 G at 130 MPH in 4th gear, and it was still pulling nearly 0.1 G at 170 MPH in 5th when he let off.
