Get rid of Norton and McAfee then download Avaist. I did this about 9 years ago and my Computers run great. Best of all it's free.

What are you using for antivirus? I like to use Microsoft Security essentials. I agree, Norton & McAfee tend to take up system resources..

Let me know via PM if you need any help, always willing.

+1 for Microsoft Security Essentials. It's free and works just as good as other paid anti-virus software.

It's also a good idea to download malwarebytes and run it every once in a while. Just scan it to make sure you're good, and then you can uninstall.

Yeah, I'm using Kaspersky because I had a virus that I couldn't get rid of a couple years back. The clowns at Worst Sell recommended it after it cost me a couple hundud to get them to remove it. I'll follow hotcivic and our friend Dan's advice when I get the new computer. Microsoft sounds logical even though Bob has had good luck with avaist. Thanks guys.

Dan has fixed / upgraded my PC and has repaired a few for friends. He is highly recommended for computer geek stuff.

Yeah, thinking about a new computer but all the reviews about windows 8 are pretty bad.

I have messed with Windows 8 and it has some nice features, but it definitely takes some getting used to.

You can try it out and see if you like it, and if not I can install Windows 7 on it. Or you can keep Windows 8 and install Windows Shell which gives you the Start button and makes it look like Windows 7.
