Argue about 4.6 mod

got into argument about stupid 4.6 mod motor. guy said their better than sbc or ls motor. i asked why and he said their just better. wht an jerk. i say too big and no better. cant see where im wrong. dont see anybody swaping them into rod an customs

Sure they are better, 4.6's have twice the moving parts as a 1st. gen SB Chevy thus they explode with more style :banana smile:

A 4.6 is not that bad, when you own one.

Yes people are swapping them, the most common is older F100 trucks. Quite a few 4v and 2v motors swapped into those. Mostly 4v's for the extra power and look.

Everyone is swapping in late model enigines into old stuff, just the way it is. Hell I even put a modern T-56 in my Angry Bird car. Some day it will get an LSX eninge as it's last engine.

I don't know much about the the modular 4.6, but when I saw one that had been pulled for some work, it looked huge in comparison to any of the pushrod smallblocks. How much does a complete 4.6 weigh? Can it be set back behind the ball-joints like most pushrod small-blocks & big-blocks?
