There'll always be more kooks with claims of our eminent demise. The truth is that if we manage to avoid killing ourselves off, we will eventually get hit by a big-ass comet or asteroid, or a gamma ray burst from a supernova will just happen to hit us head-on & ionize the entire atmosphere in a matter of hours. It's not a matter of if, it's simply a matter of when.
