2013 GT500 runs 10.02

  • 2013 GT500 runs 10.02

    Allegedly, the Bolt-On Only mods (No internal engine modifications) are:
    Long tubes
    Slicks & skinnies
    K member & Control arms & suspension setup including:
    Anti-roll bar
    Adjustable shocks & struts
    Strange drag brakes (to clear skinnies as apparently they don't have skinnies that clear '13 GT500 brakes yet)
    a custom tune
    and seat removal. (I really hate that they did this)
    100% stock engine
    100% stock fuel system


    The car has run 9's but will have to wait for the 5.0 Mag's to come out for the full mod list for those runs:

    Edit:
    Finding more bolt on mods RUMORED to be on the car:
    4.10 Gears (I hate that they did this too)
    Crank pulley (for more boost)

      Dan, the numbers look right based on the tweaks and that's a nice 1/8 mph. Looks like a fun trip down the track.

      Pulley? Don't they run 15psi stock?

      Taking a new "world beater" car and changing those things make it pretty much no different than any other modded car though. Ya gotta take a 650 hp car with 15 psi and bump that up, add slicks, gears and the rest. Hmmm.

      At least after doing the mods, they got good results. Makes me appreciate the n/a Z06 with drs and a clutch upgrade going just as quick.

      If Sloss had it he'd end by saying "and as usual...it's all stock". lol

            Car should be running 9.30's with that mph. Pretty good even though it's a street car and not a drag car. The 60 ft. is weak and might be some of the loss of ET.

              The ZL1 needed a head & cam swap for the 9's, the GT500 needed to be lighter & have a better suspension, which we all expected. I was just happy to hear they got itno the 9's with a stock motor/fuel system.

              Regardless, the ZL1 vs. GT500 fight will continue and should be an exciting ride!

                  And just to make you feel better there is this tid bit. Looks like stock engine, blower and stock bottom end too there Mr. Cobra, but here at TCO we have to defend GM as well.

                    Although the 9.87 heads/cam ZL1 went quicker than the Evolution GT500, the slower GT500 is actually quicker in DNeinstadts eyes because the GT500 had stock heads and cams. And because it's a Ford.

                          All I'm saying is that the Ford guys have barely touched the motor to run their 9's, this means they are making the same HP as a stock GT500. Your ZL1 is pretty well modded and likely making a lot more power than a stock ZL1.. So comparing the "stock motor ZL1" to a "stock motor GT500" isn't going to give you anywhere near the same results.

                          You have to be crazy if you think adding CNC ported heads & cam aren't going to give you more HP than stock...

                          Show me where I said the Ford was quicker or faster??

                            BTW your link says they are making 700whp, which should be MORE than enough to run 9's. What's the GT500 have for RWHP?
