Well...the Ariens blew through the foot of wet heavy stuff in third gear without even breathing hard. Had no trouble throwing the stuff across half the width of my two-lane driveway, plus another 20 feet. Even blew through the plow's windrow at the end of the driveway without bogging down. Took me maybe 20 minutes to clear my two-lane 100' driveway. Made in the USA by a family-owned company. Gotta love it!

My MTD did the same, but the neighbor's Jacobson bogged down 10 times or more. Hell my little tore 2 cycle has more power than that jake.

My problerm isn't just the length of my driveway (110 ft), the end of it is where the plows push all the crud because it's a curve. It's hard to believe that my 20 year old Toro 824 "powershift" still gets the job done. It clogged a couple times though because I was running into ice slush.

Yeah, that's what they said back in March of '66, and we know how that turned out!

                  Glenn,

After giving this some careful thought, I came to the following conclusion: Everything would be bass-ackwards.

The Sun would set in the East. Stuff would fall 'up'. Speed limits would be speed minimums. Cops would use their radar guns to time stoplight races & award prizes to the winners. A Prius would hold the all-time NHRA Top-Fuel record. The Toyota Yaris would be highly regarded for its prowess at the Nürburgring, followed closely by the Chevy Volt. Companies would actually behave like their employees were their most important assets, instead of just saying it over & over again. Governments would actually do what the majority of those who elected them want.

And the real biggie - Ford would dominate in NASCAR. :rotfl:

                  Scary, stuff, 'eh?

Yup. And I was stuck in the office all day. I would've taken the GN out for a cruise after work, if the roads weren't still full of body & frame remover. I had planned to take the afternoon off, but a bunch of doctors were scheduled for a lab tour (that somebody forgot to tell me about), so I had to set up a demo and do a presentation on the test system I designed.

Oh well, at least I can see spring from here...

Yeah, what a nice day! I spent some time sitting on the deck, watching nature & drinking a couple beers. The local bald eagle was flying his hunt circle over my woods. There were lots of birds at my feeders, and the pileated woodpeckers were hammering away at the suet. The local deer showed up, and hung out near the edge of the woods. I noticed that the maple tree near the deck is budding already. A couple hours of that pretty much wiped out my winter blues.

Now all we need is a nice, strong rain to wash the salt off the roads...

It's supposed to hit 70 on Wed.
