I'll try to be diplomatic...
To be honest, I would not want to be anywhere on the track with this guy. Why? Because in my opinion, he's trying to prove something to everyone and is in fact not only endangering himself, but fellow racers. To run a "small tire" with an extreme amount of power as you say "makes no sense".
But instead of putting a safe, workable and effective combination together, he'd rather experiment with a dangerous and potentially lethal combination. Match that with "inexperienced driving"....well you get the message.
If any racer experiences that his car has potentially dangerous tendencies, wouldn't it make sense to correct those issues? But it appears that he's more concerned with how much dyno power he has and the ability to click off an occasional 8 sec @ 160....because impressing the guys is more important than anything else.
It's fortunate, lucky or both that he hasn't gotten loose at 140-160. Being on a track with him in that situation is a mental picture I don't want to have.
I honestly wish him an uneventful (safety wise) race track experience and especially wish the same for whoever is on the track with him.
