  • Opinion, Are local street cars more drag oriented now

So I get a call from one of my freinds who went to BIR this weekend and told me of some of the locals and what they ran, Pretty good considering that most of these guys have now turned their street cars into drag cars.

Case in point, We will take a certain 3rd gen car that was really a nice street car but Humm?....Now it needs slicks, redone suspension and other related drag parts to make it hook. Now don't get me wrong these cars are going fast, But what happened to just a couple of years ago to the "My car is a street car and drag racing is gay" comments, does anyone remember this?.

Another car was a certain cobra that was a really fast street car only to be turned into another drag car with a solid axle, turbos, parachute and a roll cage. Seems like some of these people are spending lot's o' dough just to get an ET to impress their friends and buds. There are a ton of cars I have seen in the last few years that have gone from being a "street car" to what I call a drag car, But where are they now? at home waiting for the next weekend drag race, would not that make it a drag car?.

Does anyone get my drift here? It seems like more and more are turning to making their cars into full on drag cars and then they pimp on this site saying some of us are just Bullshit drag racers when in fact the ones that say this have all this fancy drag stuff.

I sure do hope that as these so called "street type drag racers":rlol: In the future get a clue that real street cars don't have all this fancy race stuff and can drive from here to Duluth. Sorry that a couple of you will only be able to read this and not post to it, But then they got booted to another place to play, Sorry:rotfl: This is just my opinion.

So congrats to the so called "Street cars" at BIR for their great times.

I was in the Duluth time trials last year. Not sure if I'm going again this year but my car is a STREET car. :)

I'm nowhere near as fast or quick as some of the other "street" cars spoke of above though.

Just read a stupid statement on something I thought was funny.

              [quote]Car ran a 10.50, then a bunch of 11's. It's an 8 sec. car though[quote].
How fucking stupid is that :fail1:

I guess my camaro is a 9 sec. car, at least but it ran a bunch of 11's last time:lol sign:

I just love the stupid stuff people say, Right LTD :rlol:

                  LOL, classes last year were:

                  DOT tires
                  Not DOT tires

But they were NOT enforced. I think I ended up in 12th place but I was running with full on drag cars with slicks, which I'm not sure are considered DOT legal but I could be wrong, it's been known to occur once or twice. :)
