  • Anyone know who does LP tank repair and Re-cert

My 33lber on the RV has a minor minor leak someplace I am guessing in or around the sight and level gauge. I would like to have it pressure tested with a new gauge and also the tank blasted, painted and certed.

Anyone know of anyone who does this in MN. I sent out a couple of emails to places but no reply yet. Local camper centers won't touch it.

I had new fill and main valves put it in the fall of 08 at Lakes Gas but they didn't find any leaks, I had a 1/4 tank of LP in there last fall and when I got it out yesterday it was empty and I still noticed last year when I would walk by I would get a small whiff of lp. I hosed the valves and gauge down a number of times with leak junk but got no bubbles it must be a small small leak as I could fill it in the spring and go all year on a fill.

Well I was wrong about being empty thing is a quarter full I know this cause when I took the last bolts out it fell on my chest. I guess the gauge is reading correct.

Called lakes gas there going to look it over good. Who knows..., but pretty sure its the sight gauge. Prob just needs a new seal, some rust stopper and new paint.

            Bring on summertime!

Done and done, took it to Lakes Gas they redoped the filler neck replaced the gasket behind the sight gauge. Stunk up the car on the way there so bad had to drive with the windows down, after I picked up no stinky. Got some brackets fabed up for the heat shield that fell off when I first got it and that fit like a glove.

I had dad paint both with Por-15 gray. Turned out nice! I'm happy.. got everything buttoned up today and cleaned up the wiring a bit and it don't stink one bit yet. I have to get it to town and get it filled all the way up this week sometime. Everything seems to work on LP.

Took most of the scaley rust off..
