Well, they don't make one.. this is the response

"We don't like the T56 around here so we don't make anything for it"

Wow. That seems like a very short-sighted business plan.

No shit! Fantastic way to treat a possible customer. I won't recommend them to anyone again.

yeah, I don't think I have ever gotten a response like that from a business I was inquiring with.. O well, I can hopefully find someone else who has something.

I don't think you can adapt an LT1 to the early cars, But I do know that you can adapt a LS1 T-56 to the early stuff as I am going to do this year. You can use the adapter plate but you have to change the input shaft to an LS1 input, You will also need the exended pilot bushing also. Here is the link for you to see it.

hmm.. I wonder how much the ls1 imput shaft swap runs.. I mean if the adapter is 190, and the swap is xx$.. I can just buy the right bellhousing for 400~ for lt1. I have seen one before, it has just been forever

I believe the mcleod 8710-15 with the extended bushing will be the right one, I have to confirm this with someone on the olds board first, because he is the only one that I believe has an lt1 trans in his. I wish I could just get the adaptor plate setup, but with the ls conversion parts and everything ends up being more than 400~ and the bellhousing is around 420~
