40th Anniversary GTP coupes - only 1,128 made!

I just found out that Pontiac made a total of 7,222 40th Anniversary cars. Only 1,128 of them were GTP coupes.

Total 40th Production
7,222 units

Breakdown for the specific model is as follows

GT Coupe
967 units

GT Sedan
2,871 units

GTP Coupe
1,128 units

GTP Sedan
2,256 units

Over the past year, I have been toying with trading it in for something with the correct set of drive wheels - like maybe a G8 GT. Now that I know how few they made, I'm thinking I should hold on to it. Right now, the 40th Anny package doesn't increase the value of the car; however it may make a difference in a few years.

I am sure there will be some Pontiacs that will be worth some dough but only time will tell. Sure is funny to say that Pontiac is an orphan car company after the end of the year. Stupid move by GM, IMO
