  • Stance changed a little

Here's a picture of the Malibu before the engine and rear end swap was done...

This photo is actually of the passenger side flipped horizontally.

And here is how it sits now...

I'm really happy with the current look

    What do you guys think?

the rear "shouldn't" have done anything for the look.. but i wish it was in my car. the motor "might" have lowered the front a tiny bit because of weight difference but i dont think it did

anyhow still looks like a wicked sleeper to me

Thanks I think that the relocation brackets for the lower control arms might have lowered the rear of the car some. And I think that the front actually came up a hair due to the aluminum heads. Maybe my eyes are just messing with me...

I really can't say. I never hammered on it with the peg-leg 7.5" in it. I figured it was pointless.
They claim that one should pick up a tenth or more for 60 foots after installation. (http://www.umiperformance.com/3010?category_id=60) I will never be able to verify that though

Good to hear they help with wheel-hop! That's certainly something I don't want!
I did have a 7.5" posi last summer but ended up selling it. Sorry

thats cool.. i need to find one cheap since its not worth puting the money into a 7.5" but my parts list is now very small! only need a bellhousing, clutch, misc small things like fuel/oil pumps, cap/rotor and the motor will go to the shop soon enough hopefully. and get a driveshaft made and it should be cruising around, hopefully early june it will be done

Definately looks better. I would say the back looks lowered and the front looks about the same. Ever thought about taking the molding off the sides?

I do plan on removing the "upper" molding, i.e. door bump strips. They were on the car when I bought it and I haven't gotten around to getting them off yet. The other molding is factory so I'll be leaving that in place unless the car is painted down the road.

Now you need to buy the drop spindles from JJRP57 in the
classifed section. That would give you the perfect stance.
You can probably tell....I like em low......

See, I thought it looked a little different when I saw you. Does look good though. When the rear went down, it may have lifted the front intern a little bit. Hard to say with the front though. Still looks good though Get some more lugs on there?

I was actually considering asking him more about them. The front wheels/tires should be narrow enough to use those without any rubbing issues. I had some on an '85 Monte years back that rubbed but I was also trying to tuck a 16x8 wheel/tire combo.

The lugs were taken care of the following day
