Nice job, I got my adapter plater this week but I am going to make my own crossmember for lass tha the places I looked at. They want like $260, I thought that a lot of scrap metal I can waste.

exactly, my x-member, cost me 0 dollars plus a couple beers to a good guy I know. I think the reverse gear in this trans is chipped.. hopefully it doesn't grenade right away, as I've held onto it long enough without checking anything out in which I just have to deal with it.

also, f not having a trans jack.. I hope I adjusted the throwout bearing correctly, or I have to take it back apart and be very angry at myself again. on a side note, anyone know where I could grab a quart of mobile one atf that hasn't been in stores for like a year or more?

cut a hole in the floor and put in this cheapo floor shift boot. put in the shifter and don't really like where it lines up in the console. Will likely try to find a different shift handle or something.

then pulled the old leaky radiator out. to replace it with this aluminum one

which was 'supposed" to be from a g-body.. ha.. not only was it a little taller, and about 6 inches narrower.. it didn't line up at all with my shroud and had one of the flanges angled in some stupid fashion.. got to waste about an hour cutting and putting it back in to see if it would fit.. made me want to punch something, as bot the shroud and the top plate that aren't exactly the most common parts to run across if i ever need to change to a different one that is "supposed to fit"

That looks like the same radiator I had for the Camaro. I am going to order a flywheel and clutch soon for the bird now that it's getting warm out. That shifter looks like it in the right spot for you, I will have to recut and weld mine. I will need to redo my homeade console as well. Tell you freind I will give him 3 beers to make me a crossmember.:rotfl:

its pretty close. i would like it to be further forward and centered more, so I'll probably have to tweak it a bit or cut and paste something that I like. I'm sure he would if you had a drawing of what you needed ..

went to swap the rear axle like two weeks ago.. got everything going well.. brake lines broke free soooooo easy, well it had to be something that effed my progress.. it was the lack of a 18 mm wrench.. I have damn near everything else.. but no 18mm.. I have a 17 and a 19, but no 18.. .......... sucked, I failed at getting the rear swapped because of this.

couple weeks ago tried to do diff stuff... got started ok

then it all failed.. stupid cheap crappy bolts.. stripped two trying to torque to 80ft lbs on my initial torque..

called summit that day, they are getting me free replacements. so thats good.

should have called them about all of the bolts that were the wrong length for my mcleod bellhousing.. they were all too short to bolt the trans to the bell.

fast forward: just got the replacement bolts yesterday...

I used to swap rear ends all the time on my malibu on the weekends. Went from 2.73 to 4.10 to play around. Just over 75 min start to finish inc. bleeding brakes. I know the bolts were not rusty, Made for an easy swap.

ya, with the spacer i had to use, to get the 2 series posi to the 3.73's.. they sent me some craptastic bolts. I didn't get the carrier together, but I put new wheel cylinders and axle seals into it yesterday. hopefully I can get this thing driving by middle of next month at this point

drove it today, but not far because no insurance or current tabs on it. plus the clutch isn't completely dis engaging.. :-/ probably something with the master cyl. modified length from the guy that sold me the parts. we shall see sometime.

you can tell its been sitting a while

I only hit 1st to second when I gave her down the block. 3.73's and a trans geared like this sure makes a damn near stock olds 350 run like a badass. that is for sure. I was more happy to drive her again, being my first car, not driving it since like oct. when I parked it for winter makes me sad inside.

well, friday I was fighting clutch problems. wouldn't dis engage all the way and couldn't hit fifth. I figured i wasn't getting enough travel from the master. well, fixed that today.

I took out the master and was measuring where I thought it should be. grabbed the new rod that came with the new master I bought months back. look at it and wanted to slap the idiot that thought they needed to modify it in the first place.. put in the un modified master rod, bleed the clutch (which is a big pita with f body masters), and voila. complete clutch dis engagement. did a burnout. then realized driving a 6 speed car makes me look like rookie when trying to shift it quickly.

no pictures once again, but probably tomorrow as i should have my different wheels on it.. because today I drove it to the tire place to get my tires mounted for my 15's. then beat up on an integra with a fart pipe. 1-2 walked on him.. missed third like a rookie yet again because my centering return spring in my shifter is worn out.. didn't matter though. hit fifth then cruised. he ended up saying " I like that" and gave me a thumbs up... perhaps I can convert one person at a time.

If you need a new shifter I have a couple of extras, I will just give you one but you gotta come pick it up. They are stock type but I am sure one would work fine for you. I just got mt T-56 in the Bird last week and I cannot wait to drive it.
