  • Torque Coverter Pushing

This is a good video of how a torque converter can take out a thrust bearing.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEfqKoilLkI

"The front pump had a restriction behind the stator support (reaction shaft) tube and before the cooler by-pass valve. When the convert flashed, the fluid exhaust volume was far greater than the restriction could flow, causing a pressure spike and a forward push well over 300 pounds. This will destroy the thrust bearing and crankshaft. The video is made with a new crank and bearing with minimal endplay. The movement is the flex plate flexing until the converter bottoms in the crankshaft."
