This is something that I had happen to me and I though it was funny.
I have been trying to sell my old '88 chev 4 wheeler for a little while and where I had it for sale I got an e-mail.
Hi, I would like to pruchase your truck and will pay you the $1500 you want plus $1000 more and then I could get it shipped. Could you please send me some pictures of the truck and I will send you a certified check.
My responce was "No problem" so smelling this was a scam I sent him some pictures of a mint '88 pickup and told him it was low mileage. He sent another e-mail saying that he was really excited to get the truck.
Now mind you the truck he is going to get is a beater truck.
So a couple of weeks pass and I had the check and took it to the bank knowing it was fake but asked the bank to check it anyway.
The Bank did and said it was a fake so we laughed and I told the lady what I was going to do and she thought it was funny.
Another week goes by and this guy who says he is local said I sent you the money but no truck. So I told him he had to come pick it up as the was a question about the title.
I gave him an address where we could meet these two guys show up and asked where the truck was and I said "RIGHT THERE" they both looked shocked and said I was dishonest with them and that they were going to sue me for thousands of dollars and I would lose my house too.
The one guy said " this truck is POS" and I told him "so was the check you sent" and he said it was good and I said "then you won't mind going to the bank with me" He said "I am not going to give you $1500 for POS truck so I said "You give me $500 for the truck and $3000 for wasting my time and trying to scam me".
Both these guys got a little hostle so I said "wait I will call my layer and he will settle this and they asked who it was I said "Jack" he responded "Jack who"
I said "JACK SCHITT" and I said get lost before I call the cops which I did anyway.
They both tore off into the sunset with no truck and forgot their check too. I guess it didn't matter as it bounced of the floor into the garbage:rlol:
